PDF Metadata Viewer reads what a PDF declares about itself: the title, author, subject, keywords and creator from its document-info entries, plus the page count, the page sizes and whether the file is encrypted. Unset fields are shown as Not set rather than guessed, which matters because an empty author and a missing author look the same in most readers and mean different things here. The view is deliberately read-only: it changes nothing, and it reports document-info entries only - XMP streams, embedded files and anything resembling a forensic audit are outside its scope, and the page says so. It is the tool for checking whether a file is encrypted before handing it to something that will refuse it, for confirming that a generated document carries the metadata you set, and for finding out how large its pages actually are before printing. Nothing is uploaded, and no file leaves your device. Page sizes are reported as points, the unit the format itself uses, so a figure can be converted to millimetres or inches without wondering which unit the page had in mind. XMP streams and embedded files are out of scope, and an unset field reads as Not set rather than being inferred from context.

Frequently asked questions about PDF Metadata Viewer
Does the viewer change my file?
Never. It reads the declared entries and renders them; not one byte is modified, and there is no download because there is no new file.
What does it show for encrypted PDFs?
An encryption status and nothing else. Without the password the count, sizes, and metadata are unreadable, and the page says so.
Is this a forensic analysis?
No. It reports document-info entries, page boxes, and the header version. XMP streams and embedded content are out of scope by design.
Is anything uploaded?
Nothing. Loading and reading run in your browser — in a background worker when one is available — and bytes are released on clear.
