Tools Hub

Privacy Policy

Last updated:

This Privacy Policy describes how Tools Hub collects, uses, and safeguards information. In short: all files, text, and calculations are processed directly on your device without server uploads. We serve no ads at present, and we provide transparent disclosures regarding any potential future advertising partners such as Google AdSense.

Local-First Privacy Guarantee

Tools Hub is designed with privacy as a foundational architecture principle. We have no mandatory user accounts, no profile creation, and no gated features. When you use any of our 249 published online utilities, the data you input remains strictly on your device: no files, text snippets, or calculations are ever uploaded to or stored on our servers.

Advertising Policy & Future Partners

Tools Hub does not currently display advertisements or deploy third-party advertising cookies. All 249 utilities are 100% free with no commercial interruptions.

If advertising is introduced in the future to help cover hosting and infrastructure costs, it will be served through trusted networks such as Google AdSense only after obtaining your prior explicit consent. In accordance with transparency guidelines, the following principles will apply to any future advertising:

  • Consent before activation: No advertising tags or third-party cookies will load until you provide explicit consent through our cookie notice.
  • Third-party vendor cookies: If enabled, third-party vendors (including Google) may use cookies to serve non-intrusive ads based on prior visits to this or other websites.
  • Frequency & fraud prevention: Cookies such as DoubleClick, _gads, and _gpi identifiers would only be utilized to measure ad performance, prevent fraudulent traffic, and limit impression repetitions.

Managing Your Ad Choices & Opt-Out

You have full control over your advertising preferences and cookie settings:

  • Google Ads Settings: Users may opt out of personalized advertising at any time by visiting Google Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com).
  • Network Advertising Initiative & DAA: Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info/choices or the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance at youronlinechoices.eu.
  • Cookie Policy: For a comprehensive technical breakdown of all cookies used, their expiration periods, and browser controls, please read our dedicated Cookie Policy.

Where Your Files Are Processed

In your browser. All 249 published tools are strictly client-side: they decode, edit, convert, or calculate their results with code running directly on your own device, including CPU-intensive operations which run in background Web Workers.

The application exposes no server endpoint that accepts files, audio, images, or pasted text. Consequently, nothing is ever uploaded to a remote server, no server-side retention exists, and there are no confidential data leaks possible from our infrastructure. The Methodology page details our technical auditing process for each tool category.

What Is Stored on Your Device

Tools Hub saves only small non-sensitive preferences locally on your browser using standard HTML5 localStorage under namespaced keys. These preferences never leave your device and are never sent to external servers:

  • Theme preference: (light, dark, or system mode) — expires after 1 year.
  • Recently used tools: (names of up to 8 recently opened tools) — expires after 90 days.
  • Form defaults: (only values you explicitly opt to save in specific non-sensitive calculators) — expires after 30 days.
  • Recent search queries: (the last five search queries typed in the search bar, capped at 60 characters) — expires after 30 days.
  • Cookie consent decision: (records your choice on cookie categories) — expires after 180 days.

Uploaded files, converted documents, generated charts, passwords, and API keys are NEVER saved by this storage mechanism. You can clear all Tools Hub data from your browser at any time using the button below:

European (GDPR) and California (CCPA / CPRA) Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you have specific legal rights regarding your personal information:

  • General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR / UK GDPR): If you reside in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, you have the right to request access to, rectification of, or erasure of any personal data. Because we do not store personal profiles or uploaded files, we hold no identifying records about you. Under Google’s EU User Consent Policy, we adhere to Google Consent Mode v2 architecture for advertising services.
  • California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA / CPRA): California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, request deletion, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Tools Hub does not sell personal information. You may opt out of personalized advertising through the ad choice links above.

Hosting & Server Infrastructure

The application frontend is hosted on global content delivery networks (CDNs). Like almost all web servers, standard network access logs (such as requesting IP address, user-agent string, and requested URL path) may be generated for network diagnostics, DDoS prevention, and routing performance. These logs are maintained by the infrastructure provider in accordance with standard industry practices.

Changes to this Privacy Policy & Inquiries

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect technological improvements, legal requirements, or changes in advertising practices. The “Last updated” timestamp at the top will reflect the effective date of any modifications.

If you have questions, feedback, or data privacy requests, please contact us via our Contact Page or email us directly at contact@toolshub.dev.

Frequently asked questions about privacy

What data does Tools Hub collect?

Tools Hub collects no personal user content or uploaded files: all tool computations execute 100% locally in your web browser. We do not place advertising or tracking cookies at present, keeping all utilities completely free and private without accounts or fees.

Where are my files processed?

In your browser. Every published tool decodes, edits or converts its input using code that runs on your own device, so a photograph, PDF or spreadsheet never travels to a server and cannot be retained there.

What is stored on my device?

Only small preferences — a theme choice, a recently used tool name, your last few search queries, or a form default you deliberately save — held in your own browser and removable at any time. Uploaded files, generated documents, pasted text and API keys are never stored.

How can I opt out of personalized advertising?

Tools Hub does not currently serve advertisements or use advertising cookies. If ads are ever introduced in the future, they will require prior explicit consent, and you can also manage ad personalization across Google services via Google Ads Settings at https://adssettings.google.com.
