Obfuscate Text applies ROT13, the fixed thirteen-place rotation of the Latin alphabet. Applying it twice restores the original, which is why the same page both hides and reveals: there is no key and no state, only a rotation. It is useful for spoilers, puzzle answers and a quick visual barrier against a casual glance, and it is useless against anyone who knows the convention or recognises the output. The page states that clearly. Only the twenty-six ASCII letters rotate; digits, punctuation, accented letters and non-Latin scripts pass through unchanged, so mixed text is only partly hidden. The result reports how many letters were rotated. It is not encryption, not a password tool and not a way to protect sensitive data. It is the tool for hiding a punchline in a forum post, preparing a light puzzle, and demonstrating why a keyless substitution is not confidentiality. The rotation preserves word length and punctuation, so the shape of a sentence remains visible even when the letters do not; that is enough to tease a puzzle without making the text unreadable for long. Because there is no key, nothing about the output depends on a secret, and a reader who recognises the pattern can undo it in one step. ROT13 is a substitution, so letter frequency is preserved and the text is not statistically hidden. The page does not add or remove spaces. The output has the same length as the input. Punctuation and spacing stay exactly where they were.
