Browser onlyYour data never leaves this device.

Runs entirely in your browser. The Markdown or HTML you paste is never sent or stored.

Details: Privacy policy

Input

Direction

Up to 200,000 characters. Output is text only and is never rendered here.

Result

Convert to see the result. Raw HTML in Markdown is passed through as text, which is why the output is shown in a code block rather than rendered.

Markdown HTML Converter translates between Markdown and HTML in the browser, using GitHub-flavoured Markdown in one direction and Turndown in the other. The output is always treated as text: it is displayed in a code block and offered for copy or download, never injected into the page, because a Markdown document is allowed to contain raw HTML and rendering it would turn a converter into an execution surface. HTML to Markdown removes scripts and styles, keeps headings, lists, links, emphasis and fenced code, and does its best with tables. The page states the parts that cannot round-trip instead of pretending the conversion is lossless. Everything runs locally; no draft, snippet or page source is uploaded or retained.

How to use Markdown HTML Converter

  1. Choose Markdown → HTML or HTML → Markdown.
  2. Paste the source document.
  3. Convert, then copy or download the result.

What you get

  • GitHub-flavoured HTML or Markdown, depending on the direction.
  • A character count for both sides of the conversion.
  • A downloadable .html or .md file that matches the output pane.

When to use Markdown HTML Converter

  • Turn a README into HTML for a static page or email template.
  • Convert a CMS article's HTML back into Markdown for a Git-based workflow.
  • Paste documentation into a Markdown editor that expects clean syntax.
  • Check what a Markdown snippet produces before committing it.

Frequently asked questions about Markdown HTML Converter

Is the HTML output safe to publish?

Only if you trust the Markdown source. Raw HTML in Markdown is passed through, so review the output before publishing it on a site that renders it.

Why is HTML to Markdown not perfectly reversible?

Markdown has no syntax for every HTML element. Classes, inline styles and custom attributes are dropped, while headings, lists, links and emphasis are preserved.

Does the converter render a preview?

No. Showing rendered HTML would risk executing scripts from untrusted input. The result is displayed as escaped text, which is also what you copy.

Are my documents uploaded?

No. Both parsers run in the browser, and nothing is stored or logged.
